who owns the ad accounts?
you do. google ads, meta business, GA4, the pixel, and every bit of data they collect sit in your name from day one. we're added as a manager and removed the day you want us gone. an agency that owns your account owns your history, and that's leverage they shouldn't have.
an ad account holds more than a login. after a few months of running, it has the conversion history the bidding learned from, the audiences built from your visitors, the negative keyword lists that stop it wasting money, and the pixel data feeding all of it. that is the expensive part, and it's what you lose if the account belongs to someone else when you leave. starting again means paying for the learning twice.
how we set it up
- we create the google ads account, the meta business account, the GA4 property and the pixel in your company's name, on your card.
- we're added as a manager. that gives us everything we need to run the campaigns and nothing that lets us hold the account hostage.
- when you want us gone, you remove the manager access. nothing else changes: the campaigns, the history and the data stay exactly where they are.
the same goes for the domain the ads point at and the landing pages we build. they're yours, in your hosting and your repository, like everything else we do.
if an agency owns your account today
ask them, in writing, to transfer it to your company's name before anything else happens. a refusal or a stall is your answer. it's a common situation, and working out what's recoverable is part of the account audit we do in the first week.
