do you do mobile apps?
we build web apps that work properly on a phone, which covers most of what people mean. for a true native app-store app we'll say whether it's warranted, and refer you on if it isn't our fit.
when someone asks for an app, they usually mean: my customers or my staff need to use this from a phone, and it has to feel like it belongs there. a web app built properly does that. it runs in the phone's browser, it can sit on the home screen, and it works the same on a laptop the next morning. booking tools, customer portals, job tracking and internal dashboards all fit this shape, and they're the bulk of what we build.
why we start there
- one codebase instead of one per platform, which means one scope and one fixed number
- no app store submission between you and a fix
- boring technology: a stack you can hire for and hand to another developer
- the same security pass and handover doc as every build, and you own the source code
when native is warranted
some products need it: heavy use of the phone's hardware, or a product whose whole business is being in the store. if that's you, we'll say so on the first call rather than sell you a web app that falls short. and if a native build isn't our fit, we'll say that too and point you at who should do it. it's the same rule we apply to any project: if it isn't something we should do, we tell you.
describe what the app has to do and who uses it, and we'll tell you which one it is. start here.
