we collect very little, and we say what
what this site collects about you, what we do with it, who else sees it, and how to get it deleted. short, because there isn't much.
who we are
rebootworks.dev is run by DM LABS LLC, trading as rebootworks, at 30 N Gould St, Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801, united states. we're the ones handling anything this page describes. questions about it go to hello@rebootworks.dev.

what we collect, and why
we run google analytics to count visits and see which pages get read. it's the only third-party script on the site. there's no advertising and no tracking pixel, and we host the font ourselves.
- google analytics records the pages you visit, how you got here, your browser and device, and a rough location from your ip address, which google says it doesn't keep. it sets two cookies so it can tell a returning visitor from a new one. we use it to see what people read.
- the contact form asks for your name, email address and message, and optionally your company and what you need. we use those to reply and to keep a record of the conversation.
- our host logs the ip address, browser, page and time of every request, as any web server does. we use the logs to keep the site up and to spot abuse.
- the contact form keeps your ip address in memory for up to a minute so it can refuse a flood of submissions. we never write it to disk.
- if you email us directly, whatever you sent sits in our mailbox.
who else sees it
we don't sell your data or hand it to anyone for their own use. four companies handle it for us, three of them because the site can't run without them and google because we want to know what gets read:
- vercel hosts the site and the database the contact form writes to, and keeps the server logs.
- resend delivers the email that tells us a form was submitted. that email contains what you typed.
- our email provider stores our mailbox, including anything you send us and our replies.
- google receives the analytics data described above and processes it under its own terms.
all four run in the united states, so a message from the eu, the uk, or brazil crosses a border to reach us. each publishes the terms it transfers data under.
how long we keep it
form submissions and emails stay in the site's database and our mailbox for as long as the conversation, or any work that comes from it, is live. after that we delete them, and sooner if you ask. our host keeps server logs for a short rolling window, then discards them.
cookies
two for visitors, both from google analytics. one gives your browser a random id so your return visits count as the same person, and the other remembers the current session. both last up to two years, and clearing your browser's cookies removes them. if you'd rather not be counted, google's opt-out add-on blocks the script, and so does any content blocker.
the only other cookies this site sets are a sign-in cookie for staff who log into the admin area and a preview cookie for staff reviewing unpublished articles. if you're reading this, you have neither.
what you can ask us
you can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or tell us to stop keeping it. email hello@rebootworks.dev and we'll reply within one business day and act within thirty. this applies wherever you are. it isn't limited to places where the law requires it.
if you need the legal basis: enquiry data, because you asked us to reply (a step toward a contract). server logs, because a site can't run without them (legitimate interest). analytics, because we want to know what gets read (legitimate interest).
data we handle for clients
when we build or run something for a client, we handle their data under that contract, and where relevant an nda and a signed scope. this page covers rebootworks.dev only.
changes
if what we do changes, this page changes, and the date at the top with it. we won't widen it without saying so.
